WITH autumn just around the corner, 2020 has passed in a blur and the current financial climate may be leaving you feeling worried over money.

But as we enter the last third of the year there are ways to save extra pounds and still enjoy the season.

There are plenty of ways to save extra pounds and still enjoy the autumn

I spoke to the experts at mymoneypocket.co.uk who told me their top ways to save, come autumn . . .

POWER UP: As we approach the cooler months, it might pay to switch your energy provider.

Use a service such as USwitch to find the best deal and if you sign up via mymoneypocket.co.uk you can also earn up to £28 cashback.

LATTE SAVING: Coffee fans always look forward to September for those warming seasonal drinks, including the famous Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

But you can easily make your own at home for far less.

On Google you’ll find plenty of easy recipes and you can buy the ingredients at most supermarkets.

Giselle says: “I’m a big fan of realfood.tesco.com for a super-quick and easy recipe for this.

“Plus you’ll make a huge saving compared to spending about £3.25 per tall (small) PSL at Starbucks.”

PREPARATION IS KEY: Use the end-of-summer sales to get a headstart on Christmas shopping and you’ll thank yourself when December arrives.

Also, if there are any bigger-ticket items you’re after, make a list and start scouting for retailers who may include them in Black Friday deals.

Giselle says: “If you’re still not keen on venturing out to the shops, use cashback sites such as mymoneypocket.co.uk or topcashback.co.uk to save even more.”

LIKING LOYALTY: Rather than spending supermarket loyalty points regularly, start saving them.

Even a few weeks’ worth can cut your Christmas food shop significantly.

Giselle says: “The average spend on Christmas food and drink is around £174, so any points saved from now to December could really cut it.”

Sysco: Long-Term Investment, But Not Just Yet (NYSE:SYY)

I already covered Sysco (SYY) back in August 2019 and used the company as an example of how to screen for wide moat companies. Back then, I assumed that Sysco was rather overvalued as it was trading at around $70. And in retrospect, Sysco would not have been a good […]
